Car Insurance Plymouth (Car Insurance). are car paint codes universal for all automakers?are car paint codes universal for all automakers? i have a Mitsubishi eclipse with north star white paint code w12. Chrysler makes a w12 paint code too is that going to be the same white as Mitsubishi? (they have different names but the same code) any information is appreciated! thanks -Chris Generally paint codes are different for every car maker, but there are exceptions. Usually you will find the same colors used between auto makers that partner with one another to share parts and car designs, like Chrysler and Mitsubishi. Ford and Mazda is another example of car makers that share parts and vehicles designs, and also paint colors. not necessarily. they maybe close but the formulas for mixing could be different.you could try matching paint chips from each and see how close they match. there may be only a hint of differenceor try asking the guys at MAACO, they should have a good idea. Do a compression check on the engine cylinders (see the section "Checking the Compression in Your Cylinders" in Chapter 13). Jumping, a start If your battery has died, you may be able to use jumper cables to jump a start from some Good Samaritan's car — with one important exception. If either vehicle has an electronic ignition system, the use of jumper cables may damage it. If your vehicle is one that may be damaged in this way, you may find a warning to that effect in the owner's manual or on a decal under the hood. Even if you don't find a warning, it pays to be sure, so call the service department at your dealership and ask about your vehicle's make, model, and year. If you can safely use jumper cables on your vehicle, make sure that the battery on the Good Samaritan's vehicle has at least as much voltage as your own. It doesn't matter whether your car has negative ground and the GS's car has positive ground, or your car has an alternator and the GS's car has a generator, as long as you hook up the cables properly (and the proper way is the same in every case). Take out your jumper cables. It's a good idea to buy a set of jumper cables (see Chapter 2) and keep them in the trunk compartment. If you don't have jumper cables, you'll have to find a Good Samaritan who not only is willing to assist you but has jumper cables as well. 2. Place both cars in Park or Neutral, with their ignitions shut off and their emergency brakes on. 3. Remove the caps from both batteries (unless they're sealed). Plymouth .
